Cheshire Community YMCA Teens
The Cheshire Community YMCAs teen programs create growth experiences that build self-esteem and instill positive values through programs that promote teens as constructive community members are educationally based, and provide a safe and engaging environment.
Leaders Club
Leaders Club is a great opportunity for every teen. This program offers a myriad of opportunities for teens who are interested in learning the attributes of leadership, community development and community volunteerism. The teens in this program will have the opportunity to volunteer their time to the Cheshire Community YMCA and the Cheshire community with various family events and community service projects through-out the year. Leaders Club is a great way to accrue volunteer hours for church or other community service based organizations.
High School Leaders Club
High School Leaders Club meets weekly at the Cheshire Community YMCA. The club will meet from early September through the middle to end of May. All meetings will be held on Wednesdays, and a schedule of meetings will be constructed by veteran members starting in September and will be available to all members in October. Meetings will be held at the Cheshire Community YMCA from 7:15pm to 8:15pm. Volunteer events and the opportunities to plan and lead these events will take place during the meetings and during the various family events and other events that are planned by the club itself.
Dodd Middle School Leaders Club
Dodd Leaders Club meets bi-weekly at the Cheshire Y. The club will meet from late September through the end of February. All meetings will be held on Wednesdays and the schedule will be available for the club participants at the beginning of school year. Meetings will take place on Wednesdays at the Cheshire Y from 6:15-7:15 PM. Dodd Leaders Club is for Dodd students only and all Dodd participants will have the opportunity to participate in volunteer events throughout the school year. Leaders Club participants will have the ability to volunteer and create their own volunteer opportunities throughout the school year. For a schedule or for more information please contact

Youth and Government
Youth and Government is a great opportunity for high-school aged teens to get a first-hand look at our state government and its processes. Participants will have the opportunity to be become representatives, senators, journalists, lobbyists or youth attorneys in the mock-government program. Club activities begin in the beginning of the school year and end in March with a three-day state wide conference held at the State Capital Building in Hartford.
